My Fam...
I can't believe we are in June already. It's summertime! It doesn't really feel like summer here though. Some days it does. This weekend was pretty warm and sunny so that was a nice change! It doesn't feel like we're in Scotland when it's warm outside. It throws me off having so much sun and no rain! It's nice though. :)
We had a good week. We had a neat experience last Monday. We had asked a member in the ward, Brother Reid, to pray for a street for us to chap to find someone prepared and he got back to us last week about the street he felt inspired for us to go to. We chapped the street and the 2nd door in, we were talking to a lady named Kate and after just a few sentences she invited us in! So we were able to teach her the Restoration and she had loads of questions for us and asking us how we can have the faith that we do and such and is really interested to learn. It was such a good experience teaching her! And then it was fun for us to report back to Brother Reid that we had found the prepared person on the street he had felt inspired about. He's this really nice, older man and he was all excited about the success in us finding someone on the street that he had felt strongly about.
We're teaching Harley and Sharni (the young couple we met on the bus) again tonight. Things are going well with them, they haven't come out to church yet though. Hopefully they will this time around!
We have lots of potential investigators/so so investigators right now that we're hoping things will start picking up soon. We've got some good appointments lined up this week that we're excited about. We're getting better about familiarizing ourselves with the area and getting used to the bus routes, so that's good.
Sister Valadez and Sister Oliphant are getting more comfortable with approaching people and they are starting to open up in lessons more which is really great. They're getting more and more confident. I really feel like it was just yesterday that I was in their shoes- being new to the mission. It's crazy to think about how fast time flies!
I'm grateful to be out here. The work is coming along here in Bathgate- slowly, but surely! Hopefully things will start to pick up. But we're doing well as a companionship and getting along. It's really good.
I love you all and hope you have a good week in the sunshine!
