What a week we've had. We flew into Edinburgh for our monthly meeting so it was so great to be at the mission home again. I love it there and the meetings were really effective. It was good stuff. It took us time away from our area though so we really had to bend over backwards to reach our goal of how many lessons we wanted to have. But we did! We reached 20 lessons. Our 20th lesson ended at 8:50PM so it was cutting it close but we were so excited that it happened! It was a great week.
Friday we had an exciting lesson with our investigator, Yolanda. She said she has received her answer and she wants to be baptized! Her home still isn't sure. But Yolanda is working towards being baptized at the end of August. The spirit was so strong. She just really opened up with us and said that she's been praying about it and really studying and that during our lesson with her, she felt she received her answer that she should be baptized. She was beaming! She told us she felt so relieved and at peace when she voiced her desire. We just stood up and had a group hug. Helen was getting emotional, the member who introduced us to them. What an amazing girl she is!!! I love her!
Osa is doing really well too. He's really diving deep into the Book of Mormon and loves it. He really wants to come to church but works every Sunday. So we fasted with him yesterday for him to find a new job and he has been applying everywhere. He's such a good guy and so in tune with the spirit.
We're continuing to teach our miracle not couple, George and Mary. The ward is excited about them because they are Irish. Haha. Irish investigators are much less common here in Dublin. They are a sweet couple.
We're teaching a handful of other investigators that we are working with and hopefully things will start to pick up with them as well.
We're having a 'loaves and fishes' ward activity this Saturday. The men go fishing in the morning and then bring back fish to barbeque and the women make homemade bread and together we'll celebrate the loaves and fishes miracle. Isn't that such a good idea? It's been their tradition for years and other people from different wards in Ireland like to come over and join in. I'm excited for it. George and Mary will be coming with us to it. I'll let you know how it goes :)
We got moves calls last night. Sister Shead and I will be staying the same! We're happy about that. There are now sister training leaders in Scotland! So now every zone in the mission has an STL assigned to them. Sister Shead and I will continue to be the sister training leaders covering the zones in Ireland. Then they have 2 new sets of sisters in Scotland. One set will cover the West side of Scotland and the other set will cover the East side of Scotland. Guess who is one of the Scotland sister training leaders..........Sister Passey!! My baby girl! My daughter! AHH I'm so excited for her! (She's the one you met on skype on Mother's Day) She'll be serving with one of my good friends, Sister Ryan in Irvine! So fun. So Irvine is the base for the West Side Sister Training leaders! It's so exciting. All together now, we have 6 Sister Training Leaders, including us. We aren't getting anymore sisters to the mission because we reached our maximum number allowed. Haha. Although, we are getting loads of new elders this transfer so when we were in our leadership council on Thursday, President announced that each of the zone leader companionships will need to train a new missionary and be in a trio. Haha crazy huh?
Well, I continue to love this work. It's the most rewarding thing ever. I love the Irish people. (And the African people and Brazillian people and Polish people and Lithuanian people and all the other people we meet. They're all great :) )
